END

This is essentially what i'm going to film. the film name is "she" (她)。
it is about the objectification of the women of the night. that they go through the same love and desperation that each one of us goes through. at the same time this is an experimental film where i seek to move away from the usual narrative structure. in this film the story of a lady is told through the revealing of a room. a close analogy would be the room is the book and as we move through it, we read it. then as we leave the book is closed.

i dont think its a worthless try. but seriously.. ihatemyfilm. scott forbides that sentence, he'll fail me if he see that sentence..

Comments:
I'm Kat's brother haha~ Actually I only touched abit on filming and a module on script-writing haha.. ANYWAY, I think that the story is a nice break from all the other cliche storylines.. I'll go into the general storyline. Generally, when going for a more experimental style like yours, try to stay away from possible cliche scenes. Experimental films really gives you the chance to set more unconventional scenes and do more with the storyline, in this case, the flashbacks. For example, tearing: 'Tears of joy rolled down her cheek.. she rejoyced at how she was finally able to see her daughter, that she could finally see the world that she have only envisioned when she couldn't see.. she tilted her head back to her husband.. and got a glimpse of hot water that flew past her eyes into her daughter's face.. she got her sight, but her daughter lost hers. Was it a fortune?

The part about zooming out to see her full body, then zoom out to see the mess of clothes is wierd. There's a break in consistency of scenes.

You also need to add more details on how the scenes will be played out, with details like whether it's a close-up shot, how many seconds is each scene, whether it's bird's high angle view/eye lvl/low angle view.. etc. Also include info on camera pans/tracking/rotation, so that it will be easier to visualise how the scenes will be played out.

Since the whole film is a silent movie (i suppose, from the way you wrote it), then the music of the film plays a big part in the mood you're trying to set. Find something really suitable.

Thats all for now.. haha.. tell kat if u need more comments~

gosh got to say this. BIG THANK YOU!!

actually seriously.. i think my its a cliche storyline (thats why i hate it lol), but i only have 3 minutes for the final and 2 shooting days (only effectly 6hrs each day..) so cant go into details, but really love your input!

the part on the zooming, it's a continuous shot. only broke it up for my own reference (focusing). the master shot of the whole film will be the zooming out(actually dolly) from the face to the whole room, intercut with flashbacks.

wanted to see how others would see this, so i didnt add the details like the camera action and shot composition.

and the music, its gonna be an original composition! by my dearest friend xiew whos a great pianist. but dont mind if you have any recommendations. :)

many many thanks! and dont even bother being polite. just shoot me down! i'll be more than willing :) thanks again!

Haha trust me, once you go out to work in the industry, those 2 days is alot~

Anyway, it's not that easy to visualise the scenes from what you wrote, so I can't give more constructive comments..

Remember that since this is such a short film, the focus would have to be on a solid storyline. There won't be much time for you to really develop the character well, so how well viewers can get their heart strings pulled would depend on how strong the story is. Involve some hidden meanings in the story. Let the viewers wander about the story even after it's ended.

Cheers~
